For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

1 Corinthians 2:2

Our mission is to pursue at all costs a passionate, God-centered LIFE.

We want to do less me-centered living and more God-centered living. When God becomes the radiant center of our lives, we begin to do more than merely exist—we begin to live as God has designed us to live. Don’t let anyone fool you; living for God is costly. At times, it means trusting Him when life makes zero sense. At other times, it means letting go of our own personal desires in order to experience what He desires for us.

“But as for you, O man of God, flee [worldly] things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.”

1 Timothy 6:11

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:10

We seek to live out the abundant LIFE by:

  • Living In Community

  • Investing In Growth

  • Fulfilling Our Purpose

  • Engaging In The Great Commission

There is simply nothing more rewarding than living for the One who sent His Son to die for us. It seems quite the paradox, but Jesus died for us so that we might live for Him.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16

We live in a culture that often shirks the idea of absolute truth. In fact, our culture is marching to the tune of a belief known as relativism, which states, “There is no such thing as truth.” At LIFE Fellowship not only do we believe in truth, but we also believe truth can be known, experienced, and defined. Though we live in a world full of untold mysteries and serve a God of mystery, He has chosen to reveal to us some very simple yet profound truths that we express through the acrostic:

D. O. C. T. R. I. N. E. S.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He exists eternally as God. Two thousand years ago, He took on the form of a man through the virgin birth of Mary; lived a sinless life; died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and rose from the dead on the third day in order to bring the Father glory.

Matthew 1:25 - …but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 20:28 - Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Philippians 2:5-11 - Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Hebrews 1:3 - He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.

  • We believe humanity was created in the image of God, but this image was deeply distorted due to the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. As a consequence of sin, each person is born into sin with a nature that is totally depraved and helpless to obtain salvation apart from grace.

Genesis 1:26 - Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

Genesis 2:16-17 - And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 3:6 - So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Psalm 51:5 - Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Romans 3:10-11 - as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.”

Ephesians 2:1-3 - And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

  • The only hope of mankind was for Jesus Christ, the perfect sacrifice, to give His life on the cross for His people. In His death, He took on the sin of mankind, and three days later He physically and bodily defeated death by being raised to life through the resurrection.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 - But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-10 - If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

  • There is one eternal God who is revealed in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of these three Persons is fully God, yet there are not three gods, but One. The Trinity is eternal and has no beginning, nor end. The Trinity is holy, sovereign, gracious, and just.

Matthew 3:16-17 - And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Mark 12:29 - Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

John 1:14 - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Corinthians 13:14 - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Revelation 1:4-6 - John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

  • We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. He will return and the Church will live in perfect peace with Him throughout all eternity and there shall be no end.

Ezekiel 37:26-27 - I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Matthew 24:27 - For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Hebrews 9:28 - So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

2 Peter 3:10 - But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

Revelation 20:1-3 - Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.

Revelation 22:6-7 - And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place. And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

  • We believe that the Bible is without error in its original form and that it is the churches absolute authority for life and godliness. We believe that the Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to draw people to Christ and to develop people to become more like Him to the glory of God.

Isaiah 55:11 - So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Matthew 5:17-18 - Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Luke 24:27 - And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Romans 15:4 - For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:21 - For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that a person is only saved through placing their faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Faith is a gift and it is given because no one could obtain salvation apart from the grace of God or by his or her own good works.

Habakkuk 2:4 - Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

  • We believe that when we accept Christ we are in Christ. Once we are in Christ we begin a life of abiding in Christ. We are kept or guarded by God. He does this through His power through our faith.

Psalm 16:8 - I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

John 10:27-28 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 1:3-5 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  • We believe that saved individuals become a part of God’s family - the church. The church manifests itself in a local expression when saved members gather together in covenantal unity around the Gospel to worship the triune God, to care for one another, and to make disciples in their community. The gathering includes worship, the teaching of the Word of God, baptism, and partaking in communion.

Matthew 5:13-16 - You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Acts 2:42 - And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Colossians 1:16 - And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

1 Corinthians 3:17 - If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

Hebrews 10:24-25 - And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Revelation 5:9-10 - And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:3

Declare your faith.

“For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ.”

Colossians 2:12

Scripture teaches that once we have received Jesus Christ by faith, we should be baptized. Baptism serves as an outward testimony of an inward change that results from faith in Christ.

It is not the act of baptism that makes us a believer or saves us. It's only by placing faith and trust in Jesus Christ that ensures our salvation. The sacrament of baptism enables the believer to identify by faith with Christ. First in His death and burial and then also in His resurrection to the newness of life.

We strive to follow Jesus and Biblical teaching as closely as possible in baptizing by immersion. Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion and Jesus was also baptized by immersion. We review this and other Biblical teachings on baptism in our required baptism class, which is generally held the Sunday before each scheduled baptism service. Check our Events page for the next class dates and baptism celebrations.

If you are interested in publicly declaring your faith in Jesus by being baptized, let us know by filling out the below form! For more information on baptisms at LIFE Fellowship, email Pastor Dan Burrell!
