I’m honored to serve as Pastor of LIFE Care with the responsibility of ensuring those hurting, grieving, struggling or going through unusual seasons know just how much Jesus loves them and they see and feel His love at LIFE Fellowship. Whether in a hospital, experiencing a personal tragedy or even palliative care of a loved one, sometime we just need someone to remind us of the truth in Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Born in Richmond County, NC and raised in Cary, NC, I didn’t think ministry was my life objective at that time. Baseball, that was my passion and a pro career my goal. Thank goodness God had other plans for me including a very non-traditional path to ministry. When my baseball career didn’t materialize, I settled into a business career with a national company. Along the way God blessed me with the most wonderful wife imaginable. Eventually He called us both into ministry. After 30 years I retired from the corporate world, was ordained and served as Pastor of Care at our home church before God brought us to LIFE Fellowship. I currently also serve as a volunteer chaplain at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and Email Responder Coach with the Billy Graham Internet Evangelism Ministry Team. My wife Donna founded and leads In His Steps, a Christian dance ministry for girls in multiple locations. We are avid Carolina Panther fans and love spending time with the 3 precious grandchildren our daughter Jessica has blessed us with.
With a large percentage of care at LIFE Fellowship coming from LIFE Groups, I’m passionate about supporting LIFE Group leaders/members as they provide care following the teaching in Matthew 25:35-36, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”
