July 31, 2001. That was the day that Jesus captivated my heart, and I truly began to live. I was 14 years old, and through a providential detour I found myself at a church, sitting cross-legged on the floor, hearing the Gospel. I quickly developed a hunger for God’s Word, but lacked real mentorship.
Later, as a junior in high school, I was studying for a lesson that I had the privilege to lead, and I felt the subtle whisper of the Holy Spirit calling me to serve his people as a pastor. It was my personal lack of mentorship that developed a passion and a burden within me for student ministry. My desire is to come alongside of students, their families, and volunteer leaders and to equip them to live passionate God centered lives, by richly connecting them with Christ and each other daily, and learning to embrace their identities and strengths in order to powerfully build up the body and win the lost.
My sons, Atlas and Ollie, are my pride and joy; and my wife, Christen, is not just my better half, but is my partner in life and ministry. She is very involved in StudentLIFE by loving people, joking way too hard, and leading worship! I love being outdoors, good coffee (always black), and the Houston Astros!
