I was raised in a small town about 30 miles south of Boston, MA. I grew up going to church and received Christ at the young age of five. I also grew up with my wife, Melanie, whom I married in 2002. We have 5 kids; Micah, Noah, Mia, Hana, and Caleb and we have been a foster family since 2012. I am currently working in Finance at Bank of America.

I attended Gordon College and received a BS in Mathematics and also majored in Biblical Studies. As much as I enjoyed Calculus, it was my Bible classes that I really loved, and that experience awakened in me a passion for God’s word that has led me to continue to study the Bible, read theology, and join in on theological discussions whenever possible. The most reliable bedtime delay tactic for my children was not to ask for a drink of water, but to ask a big question about God. In pursuit of a deeper understanding and to be better equipped for ministry, I have also completed 30 credits towards an MDiv at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2008, my family moved from MA to Mooresville, NC, along with Melanie’s parents. Our primary motivation for moving was to take advantage of the lower cost of living for our growing family but, looking back, we can see that God intended so much more. Being largely displaced from family and life-long friends challenged us to grapple with the reality of Christ, his church, and his mission in ways that I don’t believe we ever would have had we not been taken away from the comforts of “home.”  Though I had been a Christian for most of my life, in 2010 God began to open my eyes in new ways to his glory, which produced in me a life-altering passion and love for God and a deep-seated joy and “faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

God brought us to LIFE Fellowship in 2011 where we have been active, primarily, in KidLIFE and as LIFE Group leaders.  I long to see the truth of God’s word penetrate hearts and transform lives and I am excited to be a part of God’s work in doing that in and through Christ’s body at LIFE Fellowship.
